The team of DST (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India) has with their dedicated efforts and contribution brought out the compendium of 75 impactful and promising startups featured under various programs of NIDHI (National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations) to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. DST has supported incubators and its nurtured startups, whose noteworthy contribution on innovation and entrepreneurship will not only go a long way in realizing the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat but also in the nation building.

In addition to his leadership role at GD Environmental, Ajit serves as a Industrial Representative on the panel of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for the formulation of standards for Pyrolysis Oil. His expertise in this field is recognized at the national level, where he contributes to the development of industry standards that ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance in the production and use of Pyrolysis Oil.

Let’s walk through our milestones.
It all started with NIDHI PRAYAS grant from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India through Science and Technology Park, Pune Incubator. NIDHI PRAYAS, which stands for National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations, Promoting and Accelerating Young and Aspiring Innovators & Startups funded our initial Proof of Concept. This support allowed us to research, develop, and validate our groundbreaking gasification technology. Next, we secured Seed Fund from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India through incubation at Science and Technology Park, Pune.
We were then selected by AGNIi, the Accelerated Growth of New India initiative under the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor. AGNIi bridges innovators with industries, helping bring technologies like ours to market through strategic collaborations.
Invest India, the national investment agency, also recognized our work. They highlighted our gasification process as a high-impact solution in the Waste-to-Energy sector, aligning with India’s sustainability targets. Their promotion opened doors to strategic guidance.
Additionally, our technology was featured in the Waste to Wealth Mission, led by the Principal Scientific Advisor. This mission champions eco-friendly, cost-effective waste management solutions, positioning our process as a key tool for urban and industrial waste challenges.
Thanks to these partnerships, GDEPL’s Gasification Process is transforming how India manages waste—turning it into energy and advancing the circular economy. Together, we’re building a cleaner, greener future.
